Of course. Being in a Frat can help you for the rest of your life. It can help you get better jobs. If I need to hire someone and two qualified people apply for the same job. If one is my frat brother (not even the same school) He will always get the job before the other. Also, I know a frat brother who owns an auto dealership, I can always go there and buy a car at a lower price than anyone else. I have frat brothers who work in investments. They always call when they have a good IPO or other great investment opportunity. I have another frat brother who manages a luxury hotel in Deston Fl. I can take my family there any time and get a free suite for the week.
That is what being in a Frat is all about. Creating a lifelong bond and network to help everyone ( your brothers ) succeed in this country. I owe much of my success to my Frat brothers and they also owe me.

No, in fact it can hurt you if you are stupid about it.
I had an IT Tech who wanted to send a little business to a Frat Brother. I caught sight that this would of cost the company from $5K to $10K or more per order and had the guy fired.
The good old boy network doesn't work in today's world and if you think it does you probably are being taken for a ride.

I think it depends on where one attends school. If a college has a significantly sized Greek system, then being greek can help with campus life (status in organizations. However, while being greek can help, it's not the only determining factor. Generally though, being greek doesn't influence status. It's just fun.

Regardless of social standing, will it affect your studies and your education? The real purpose of attending college, usually by the sweat of your parents brow and scrimping and saving on their part, is an education to enable you to earn a good living when you graduate.
