Heat is one of my favorite movies; but, like most Rs (or Pacino movies, for that matter) there's quite a bit of profanity (especially the f-word). While cursing isn't as bad as some movies (like Scarface), it can still be intense in some places. There are about 100 profanities in the entire movie: 55 f-words (some combined with "mother" or used sexually), 22 sh-words, 10 a-words, 5 h-words, 2 SOBs, 1 d-word, 1 c-word, 4 GD-words, and 1 g-word.

As far as violence goes, there are some general shooting scenes and the (infamous) bank shootout about halfway through the movie. It's not excessively gory, but if you shy away from even slightly graphic violence, you might want to skip past that part. It's nothing like what you'd see in a Tarantinio movie, but it's not Matrix-like stylistic fighting, either.

Explicit sexual material is generally non-existent; there's one scene with Pacino's character and his wife in bed (close to the beginning of the movie) but it's nothing explicit. There's a similar scene later with DeNiro's character and his girlfriend. There's no nudity or sexual noises/movement, so compared to tons of R even PG-13 movies, this is relatively tame.

I'd really advise you to check out Screen It's content review (listed below) for Heat. They cover everything from violence and profanity to disrespectful attitudes to alcohol usage. And they break it down, scene by scene, in order as it appears in the movie:

In general, Heat is a suspenseful, intense cop/criminal drama that finally puts Pacino and DeNiro head-to-head. However, I'd strongly advise it be watched by those 18 or older; it's definitely NOT for kids! It's not a terriblely offensive movie; but if you are sensative to strong language or moderate violence, you might consider watching it when it's on cable/network television so most of the material in question would be edited.

Cheers!! :)

i think of Denzel Washington is larger than the different 2, yet Al Pacino and Robert Deniro are tremendously solid. seem on the video of Al and Robert! i stumbled on it on Youtube! they are certainly great actors. I in basic terms nevertheless like Denzel extra desirable. My mom likes him, too. She thinks he's the ideal actor.

Oh, THAT kind of bad! I read the question and thought you were nuts. It is a GREAT movie, but you clarified here what you meant. The truth is that it is rated R for a reason. There are f-bombs in it and other cursing. Several people are murdered. There is even a big machine gun fight in the middle. So it is pretty violent. Great movie! But not appropriate for everyone.

It has cursing and gun violence. It also has some mild sexual situations close to the beginning of the movie. However, it is an awesome movie!

Alan Marciano: Why'd I get mixed up with that *****?
Vincent Hanna: Cause she's got a great ***... and you got your head all the way up it! Ferocious, aren't I? When I think of asses, a woman's ***, something comes out of me.
