When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter Cassi I was 2 months along. I secretly hoped my first baby was a girl. Then when she was 18 months I got pregnant with my son Jack. Before I found out he was a boy I wanted a boy. So yes I'm ecstatic that my secret hopes came true, but truth be told I would've been happier either way (I think most people would).

My question is...

Did anyone else have a preference during pregnancy?

With my first, I didnt care either way. It was a boy.

With my second, I almost cried on the US table when they told me I was having another boy. (I REALLY wanted a girl)

Of course, now it dosnt matter one bit. I couldnt imagine not having my 2 little men!! I love them sooo much!!

With my first pregnancy, I just had a "feeling" that it would be a girl. She was born long before it was common practice to have ultrasounds during pregnancy. The same thing happened with my second pregnancy, I had a "feeling" it would be a boy. With my third, another "feeling" it was a girl. I was right each time. When those children were 18, 15, and 12, we found out I was unexpectedly pregnant despite being on birth control pills for 11 years. I was high risk (I was 38 and had Gestational Diabetes) and had 12 ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy. My husband and I opted not to find out ahead of time if it was a boy or a girl. I ended up with no "feelings" either way and was quite surprised when she was born as I had no idea nor did I care if it was a boy or a girl. I really did want to have a girl first and a boy second, but I really would have been just fine with whatever they were.

Yes! When I first found out that I was pregnant I wanted a little girl so bad. I wanted to be able to dress her up, do her hair and nails. Take her shopping for different things, etc. As I got further along I started wanting a boy because I thought it'll be easier. Honestly, I would've been happy either way just knowing that my child was happy and healthy. Also this was my first pregnancy so everything that happened that was good I was happy about and couldn't want to tell the dad and my parents. When I found out that I was having a boy I had mixed emotions but after a while I was so happy. Now I wouldn't change anything (even though he drives me crazy from time to time but that's kids for ya).

Well to be honest, i always thought my first baby would be a boy, ever since i was little. Since those early thoughts, i've been pregnant three times, lost 2 and i'm now 19 weeks pregnant with my first, for the first time. With the two that i lost, i felt they were boys. However with this one, i kind of have that gut feeling it may be a girl and i'm kind of secretly hoping, however, i will definitely not be disappointed if it's a boy... I'll be ecstatic either way!

I didn't have a preference for my first, but my former MIL sure did. When the doctor said "it's a girl" I thought the woman was going to slap me or faint lol. Her first reaction was how could her son make a girl(she was the first girl in 7 generations on her dads side). She didn't talk to me for 2 months until it sunk in that there was no way to change it. BTW I had a feeling it was a girl all along haha. With my second a friend did a tarot card reading and told me I was having a boy so when I went for my ultrasound and they told me it was a boy my response was "I know". Boy was MIL happy that time lol. This time I'm certain it's a girl(new husband and he wants a girl too) and from the tech could see yesterday that's what I'm having.

P.S. My oldest daughter had begged me not to give her another little brother lol.

I secretly wished for a girl for my first and that is what I got! I didn't know what she was my entire pregnancy because she never cooperated with the doctors and I was dead set on her being a girl...I didn't even bother picking a boys name. Thank God she was a girl! I am expecting my second and I am really torn between a girl or a boy, I mean I always wanted one of each but now that the time is here I think I am leaning more towards a girl. That would be more ideal for my daughter anyways, to have someone she can play barbies and dolls with (not that I don't already do that and enjoy it because I do) I don't know. I will love what ever gender I get!

When pregnant with my first baby I kept imagining a boy. I found out the baby would be a girl and funnily enough I was really pleased and happy. With my second I really wanted another girl so that the two could be close friends as I was with my sister. At the scan they weren't sure and I had to jiggle around quite a lot to get the baby to move so they could see and I was quite anxious in case they said it was a boy... luckily it was another little girl. Of course it really wouldn't have mattered and I felt a bit guilty as I know people who would desperately love to have either but I think its only natural to imagine what the new baby will be like.

I wanted a boy... but only for my husband.

I have a feeling that this will be our only child, and that if we want more, we'll adopt. It's not that my pregnancy is difficult... it's just, there are so many children out there... if we can provide for one of them, I'd prefer to.

However, I knew we'd at least have one child of our own... and I know his hopes were that it was going to be a boy.

We found out a while ago, that we're having a girl. I'm ecstatic. He was bummed for a bit. I think just because he was in the mind set that he wouldn't know what to do with a little girl... after I started going over a few future possible scenarios... he perked right up. Now it's... Daddy's little girl this... and Daddy's little girl that...

i wanted a boy. im having a boy.

my friend wanted a boy. she's having a girl.

but honestly, if my baby magically transformed into a girl I would be just as happy. there are pluses to both sexes for me, and i'm just enthusiastic that I am having a little part of me grow into a human being and i cannot weight to hold him in my arms for the first time.

i'm sure everyone has a secret desire for a certain sex, it just depends on what they want at the time. i want a boy because i think boys should come first... stupid? but honest. i think a girl would be nice now as well though, probably because a lot of friends of mine are having girls and i think the girl clothes are cute and all the girlie things they will be doing with their children. but i also want a boy so i can have a fun little rug rat who i can teach to do all sorts of boy things and never have to worry about tampons and prom dresses. being a girl is hard, and i was a crazy kid, im afraid of daughters!!!! hehe

With my first child I wanted a little girl so bad. Everyone that I worked with was telling me it was a little boy. We didn't get to find out until 28 that she was a little girl. She wouldn't cooperate at the ultrasound. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and I wanted another little girl because I wanted them to be closes like my sister and I are. Well the ultrasound did say it was going to be another little girl. I sit back and think if they would have been boys I would have loved them just as much as I love my daughter and my baby that will be born on July 31.
