I want to hit far and High,any tips?

if u want to hit far and high, aim to get under the ball, but still to drive it. it also depends on where you want to hit the ball. if you want to pull it, swing a little early, and if you want to spray it, a little late. also, aim for a gap, even for a sac fly. ther might be a chance of it dropping in

Fast pictch is a son of a gun to hit. But, if its a regular softball game, I would suggest swinging when the ball is about 5 feet from you. Softballs travel pretty far if you get under em just right. You really don't need a lot of power to send one wailing, just hitting it in the right spot should do it. Get some practice first!

See the ball, hit the ball. You cannot commit a swing before the pitcher throws the ball.

Are you just gonna guess where it is going! In order to hit a ball you have to put the bat on it and in order to put the bat on it you have to know where it's going and in order to know where it's going you will have to see it leave the pitchers hand! if you don't want to aim and strike out then by all means swing when the pitcher release the ball.
if you want to make contact, you should see where the ball is going then aim and swing.

I think I'd wait until the ball neared the plate before I swung at it. Isn't that the point of the game?? To hit the ball??

depends on what type
if its slow pitch then no!!
u have to wait on the pitch to get to you and drop level then swing
fastpitch is different though. most likely u need not be hesitate on your swing
