after costing more than 3000 american lives in Iraq and we now reached the point of arming Saddam loyalists to fight militants , what a waste of american lives !!!!! What sort of a dickh**d come up with such an idea ???

I would not doubt it. After all, the Baathists seem to be the only ones who can keep the extremists under control. A pity Bush just didn't leave well enough alone. But then, he and his close associates are making a fortune on this war.

I think this maybe a mix up
the loyalists are the so called terrorists
so called because they ar probably peed of that the U.S. are their wrecking their country
not that i support Saddams army BUT we in the west have really ballsed this country up and we cannot win the war
If we could we would have won it by now..

we have been doing it since the day we got there, since no one knows who was a loyalist and who was not, and have had our weapons used against us on numerous occasions
this is one of the reasons why there are many people who opposed this war before it ever started, including Bush Sr

Doesn't bother me as long as they are vetted properly. This is not the first time we have used "enemy" forces to do our job. After WW2 we used Japanese troops to control Korea.
