There are 49 official Democrats, 2 independents who side with the Democrats, and 49 Republicans. So, in effect, it is 51 to 49 in favor of the donkeys.

Technically the democrats, but the way are gov't is being run, especially on the immigration debate, you could say that there is only one party in the senate. They are all the same anyway
