I'm getting fed up with questions that imply criticism of other members of this community. Those of us who disapprove of the McCanns are perfectly entitled to do. We believe that they were in the wrong to leave the children in an unlocked apartment in a foreign holiday resort (or anywhere else come to that) If this tragic child's disappearance makes people think a bit more about what goes on in the real world and prevents other children being left on their own, then at least something positive may come of it.

I neither know nor care whether the McCanns are charged or not. The main thing is finding Madeleine.

Why would they wear sackcloths and ashes? Our money is "providing finacial assitance to the McCanns." Our money is lining their pockets. I repeat, why would they wear sackcloths and ashes?

Edit: Voice of Reason, your opinion is the right one is it? Hey people, look! We have another Pro McCann here. Joy unbounded. Sad to say, your opinion isn't right. There is leaving you child to play in the garden, there is leaving them in an unlocked room in a foreign country whilst socilising at a tapas bar. Honey, there's a difference.

Are you asking if people will only be happy when the McCanns are transported back to the Victoria era? Bit of a silly question really.

I will be happy when either a) their daughter is found, or b) they are no longer abusing the media and public for their own fame hungry needs and I can get back to life without having headlines int he paper and news taken up by the latest revelation about which celebrity or world leader they are meeting now and how we are all not helping enough because we are not searching our neighbours houses.

Do they really belong to Opus Dei then?

The answer is of course no, but they should admit that it is not acceptable to leave young children alone. They should also tell other parents not to take the same risks with their own children.
And it would be nice to see the money given to a children's /missing persons charity.
Their PR ought to advise them that many members of the public are disturbed by their apparent pursuit for celebrity. The focus now, isn't on Madeleine , it is firmly on the Mccann's. That wont help Madeleine or the Parents.
Some show of emotion wouldn't have gone amiss either. its too late now however since most people would say "Crocodile Tears".

Maybe its fine in Europe or wherever to neglect your children. Here in the USA these people would have had the rest of their remaining children taken by court order! They may have never gotten them back as well! Sackcloth and ashes is too good of treatment for these guys. Rich enough for a trip for 5 to Portugal, too cheap to get a sitter for an hour! Give us all a Break!

Have you thought that Maddie has perhaps been through far worse treatment than her parents have. If they had looked after the children Maddie would never have been taken. A peodophile cannot abduct a child when the parents are in the room.

Strange question from someone who says they are slightly anti-Mccann, has asked whether the parents did it and whether they should have a concert for them!!!

I personally shall be happy when Madeleine is found..

we will be happy when there is justice for the poor little girl all the mccann supporters seem to not care about the big issue of leaving children at home if people condone child neglect then fair enough but let others have there opinions with out reporting everyone who has a bad word to say about them

(that is not neccesarly directed at you)

i will only be happy when Maddy is found alive & healthy!!
the ignorance & selfishness of her parents won't stop me praying for her return home!
what i would like to see tho, is that the 3 children will be taken away from such mean & selfish parents.DONT every parent want time alone with their partner, whether husband OR boyfriend??? BUT we dont leave kids without an adult supervision!
i also hope that their career would be revised as well!!!!They are not good enough for the comunity IF they don't even know how to look after their own kids!!

No.

Those who are critical of the McCanns are not advocating their humiliation, but merely suggesting that they (particularly Gerry) accept that they have screwed up big time.

Their arrogance and belief that they are "good parents" (a quote from Kate), is getting peoples backs up.
