Of course. Poor Wm. Jefferson, D-La. He had a hardscrabble upbringing. He's a disadvantaged minority in a racist society.
Of course the media took it easy on him. He just solicited a few bribes. Sheesh!

Hey Joe,what do ya know!,couldn't help it.
That Jefferson thing was all over the News,showing his fridge,cold cash and all.Really,Jefferson was pretty hounded,and demoted by the Dems.The whole problem was that their were so many scandals going on, it was hard to concentrate on just one.I'm a Democrat,and I think all scandal should be investigated,no matter what party has the upper hand.Clean it all up,Jefferson,and all.

What exactly were they supposed to say? The only thing that was news worthy at the time was that he was under investigation while running for reelection. That was covered. Talking about it more than that, with all the races going going on and control of the congress at stake would have been overkill. It would have been a conservative bias and I'm sure you don't want that.

Of course they did. Why would they want to portray one of the "great saviours of our nation", a member of the Democratic Party, as what they really are -- pandering low-life liars.
And nancy Pelosi swore that she'd preside over the most ethical Congress ever. HAH!
She also promised an end to earmarks and pork-barrel politics. HAH!
But what is even sadder, is that the American people bought that crap, hook-line-and-sinker, and voted those scumballs into the majority control of both houses of Congress.
Bend over, people, the screwing has only just gotten started!
