i have to take it easy with sports for a while because of a back injury. i still want to stay in shape though while i am strengthening my back. if anyone has any ideas of some good excercises i could do...let me know!!

Stationary bicycle is good cardio exercise that is very back friendly. If you go to a spin class, it is a really great workout (burning at least 600 calories/hour), although you do a lot of standing and sitting and that might be tough on your back.

If you don’t have a problem staying upright, I love working out on an elliptical machine. Practically no impact. I have a bad hip and curved spine from a motorcycle accident, and have no trouble staying on the elliptical. If that doesn’t work for you, an exercise bike is also a good option that is easy on the back.

I was injured to and couldnt exercise, so i developed my own.

1. Firmly grasp the can of beer in your right hand.
2. Slowly lift to your mouth.
3. Using only your wrist-bend your wrist
4. Drink
5. Reverse the process

Continue above steps using your left hand.

Consult your doctor, but maybe walking is ok. Or is that too painful? Even walking is better exercise than nothing. Lifting small weights might also help you heal more quickly. Just take it easy and stop if it hurts your back.
