He is claiming to be disabled but cant get any social security benifits because he has only worked 5 months of his entire life and he's 51 years old.So I cant get child support and I need my car to work It was awarded to me in our divorce but I cant find it. The police will go with me to get it but i have to locate it first. I have checked all his relatives already.

I'd report the car as stolen. If you got it in the divorce settlement, that means you have the title and documentation to prove that it's YOURS and not HIS.

You should also file charges on his lazy a$$ for back child support. If he can't work, maybe he can sit in a cell for not paying you the money he promised!

Good luck to you! I wish you the best. Go GET HIM!!!

Your ex husband--as much as it would seem nice to say otherwise--is no different than a complete stranger. You report it to the police as a stolen vehicle. If he sold it, and was not on the paperwork--than the car can't be registered and the new owner is in violation of the law.

I hope you are doing everything you can--calling the child support collection agencies, repeatedly taking him to court to get any wages he earns garnished--to collect whatever child support you can. You may feel it isn't worth it, but it's not about that. Your child does deserve it. He deserves everything you can force the deadbeat father to provide.

If you live in a town where the police force is so small that they are claiming they'd rather you work it out with your exhusband and you find it first--then call the highway patrol.

Not to rain on your parade, but if you married this guy knowing he only had only ever worked 5 months his entire life what were you thinking? His relatives aren't going to give him up, so stop bothering them. Keep them as uninvolved as you can, until things are resolved.

Now for the car. Is the car licensed & registered to you? If that is the case report it stolen. Choice #2 Take him back to court. The judge will order him to turn it over to you within a certain amount of time. If he doesn't comply, disabled or not, he's going to jail. In the mean time stop worrying about the car, borrow one, lease one, take a bus do whatever you have to do to survive. You can come out on top. But, it takes perserverance and you have to stop being nice! You can't be nice or reasonable when the health and welfare of children is at stake. Nice is for the people that can afford it, by the sounds of it, that is not you.

My ex played games like that, he lost. Besides hiding the car, he slit my tires, then went so far to cut the brake lines. We had two children under the age of 4 that I transported in that car. That's when I learned to stop being nice.

Amusement parks don't offer free rides, so why should you?
There are enough Disney Lands in the world, he doesn't get to be Disney Land Dad, no car, no support, no children. Children cost money and if you are the only one supporting them, then you are the only one entitled to them, that includes his relatives. You want results, then fight fire with fire and hit him where it hurts. A real parent steps up to the plate, they take care of there responsibilities, no one gets a free ride.

We all make bad choices at one time or another in our lives. You need to figure out how you are going to fix them and prevent yourself from repeating them again.

So grab a glove and get in the game...Good Luck!

Report it stolen. Then the police will try to track it down. When they find it, and even if they don't - the sorry loser of an ex will go to jail.

Try going back to court and reopen the case. It was awarded to you in the divorce and he is in contempt of court. Wow what a looser 5months in his whole life is all he has worked.

find another way to get to work.
you will lose your job if you don't get to work. buy another car or something.
borrow one. you can't make him give it up.
even when you have a court order.
solve the problem of getting to work then worry about finding the car.

he probably destoyed it then called the ins. co and collected the check. who supported him all his life? don't tell me you did, this is what happens after a while when men are used to staying home.
