He's decent, but really not much more than a glorified back up. With Texas' O Line, he's going to need some extra padding on his backside this season.

I think unproven is a better term for Matt Schaub. He didn't have many chances to shine in Atlanta because of Michael Vick. I think he is a decent QB, but only time will tell how good he will be and/or if he is a bust. I don't like David Carr one bit, but he did do pretty good considering how bad the O line of the Texans is. I think Schaub is gonna have a very hard time behind that line too and will be about the same caliber QB as David Carr.

He could be really good. But then again...so could David Carr. It really doesn't matter who's taking the snaps back there as long as they end up on their butt before they can ever get the ball off.
The Texans should have the best D-line in the NFL.
Look at their last few drafts
DT Travis Johnson- first rounder
DE Jason Babin- first rounder
DE Mario Williams- first rounder
Where did they go this year? O-line?
Nope.
DT Amobi Okoye.
Get some help on offense or Matt Schaub will be a bust.

From what I saw in Matt Schaub in Atlanta, the guy is mobile, he has a good arm, and great touch on the ball. His decision making skills made Vick look bad (but so does a chimps). The problem he has now is that after this year...people will call him a bust, just like they call David Carr a bust. It sucks for both of them that Houston refuses to upgrade their offensive line, which gave something like 250 sacks in five seasons on David Carr...that's not good at all for Schaub. And you're wrong, he could be worse than Carr, remember, Schaub has never been the starting QB, so there was never much film on him for defenses to react to, they'll have that soon enough...I applaud your enthusiasm and faith in the guy, but he is still unproven and Houston has no protection. I wish him good luck though, he's going to really need it.

Carr had been through a lot with the Texans and I feel it was time to move on. Schaub will be a serviceable guy at QB. I don't expect it to be a huge upgrade from Carr. It may be fair to assume that you could potentially have drafted a guy with those picks that could be as talented as Schaub. I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

He really hasn't played enough to say whether or not he's a bust. Playing for the Texans will tell you alot about him. If he can have success there he'll be great. David Carr was bad because there isn't a quarterback on earth that can throw the ball on their backside.

A player can't be a bust until he has failed. Schaub hasn't had a chance to fail yet. So for now he's just overrated. He has some upside, so he could end up putting things together.

Well at this point, you could probably trade him back to Atlanta for 2 first rounders since all the dog fighting crap with Vick!

You're really asking if somebody who has not been a full-time starter in one regular season is a "bust"?
Wow.
