Depo provera is HORRIBLE and I would never ever recommend it to anyone. There are class action lawsuits against Pfizer for how this shot treats women.

There are also many negative side affects.

I had Norplant. Had it removed because I found out that it allowed the egg to get fertilized but not implant...auto abortion?

I used Depo but also gained weight. However, after using it with no problems for 2 years, I then started bleeding and kept bleeding for 9 months. Ended up having to go on Yazmin (2 per day) [NEVER USE 2 PER DAY]. Ended up with blood clots and in hospital for 3 weeks. Now, I can't use any birth control because of the risk of additional clots in my lungs, again.

Great, huh? If you go to fertilityfriend.com and look up 'fertile cervical mucuous' you can see exactly how to tell when you are fertile and you won't have to use any type of B/C if you don't want to.

from personal experience, I did the shot, It worked great I did however gain about 30 lbs. I took the shot for about 3 years when I decided to have a baby we stopped and on our first try got pregnant.

I have not used the norplant, I did have some friends, they said it hurt and they have a scar.
