Help! One of my tetras is looking pale and is hiding in the plants instead of schooling with his pals. He appeared to be fine last night. We are cycling a new 10 gallon tank. How can I help him?

With the information you have given I'd say hes having a difficult time dealing with the cycling (physically and mentally). That would be why he is pale and hiding. If the tank is cycling you can't really do anything unless there is a seperate tank that already has an established environment you can put the fish in. If you don't have a seperate tank all you can do is wait for the tank to finish cycling and hope he pulls thru.

If it is ammonia poisining get the pH down to ~6.25 (with buffers) to react the ammonia into harmless ammonium. Add some stress zyme or other brand of live bacteria culture to help the filter mature. It is unlikely that only one fish would be affected so it is propably a diease.
Neons diease is a uncurable problem with neons, however there is a bacterial infection with the same symptoms that can be cured, get either a broad range antibiotic or a anti bacterial med for the fish.

The other are on target I think. It's probably ammonia stress from the cycling and he's just the first to show it. Check the ammonia and change water as needed to keep it safe.

hes got neon disease sry but its un curable I'm telling you this cause i had a bunch and they all died form the same thing and the pet store told me it was neon disease
