It is perfectly normal for a breastfed baby to not have a BM every day, because breastmilk is so digestable there is not much waste. I would not worry unless when she does go it's hard or pellet like and seems difficult to pass. Just keep breastfeeding her so she stays hydrated. I would also recommend pumping in case you need to be away from her so she doesn't need to have formula, because it is much harder to digest.

Switching from breats milk to formula can definately affect a baby's bowel movement at any age. If your baby hasn't had a bowel movement after a few days you should call the doctor. It's been four days? Call the doctor but i don't believe there is cause for alarm except some discomfort for your child. The doc will give you advice to help your baby have a bowel movement. Also ask what formula he/she recommends if you are going to do bottle and breast. I did both and my little boy was on an isomil formula which is milder on baby's stomach.

It was probably the formula. Try giving her a verl little dose of infant Little Tummies drops for constipation. If she is not having bowel movements within 12 hours of the meds, call the doc. Also, if she is arching her back and wiggleing klike she is in pain, or if her tummy is hard, call the doc right away, she may be impacted and he may need to give her a suppository. Good luck, and don't worry. It could also be nothing. Babies digestive tracts are still immature and can easily get constipated. It is not your fault, and she will be perfectly fine. Goog luck!

Two of my children got very constipated as babies because of the soy formula they were on. Their pediatrician recomended that I put an ounce of the Dark Karo Syrup into four ounces of formula. If they only drink two ounces then put half ounce of the Karo. You bought the wrong one. They sell two. The light and the dark. Only the dark one works for constipatation says my children's pediatrician. It did work for my babies and brought releif quickly. I don't see how people can say to give the baby suppositories instead of some syrup. The syrup babies actually like. Suppositories are invasive and should never be given to infants unless nothing else works. When babies and even grown ups get suppositories too often their body becomes relient on them to pass a movement and it becomes more and more difficult to pass them naturally.

Is she taking a formula fortified with Iron??? If so, it can cause infants to have constipation. I would consult your peditrican as soon as possible. 4 days is a LLOOONNNGGG time for an infant to go without a bowel movement. Your doctor may suggest you use a glycerin suppository or more drastic measures. When dealing with infants or kids, you cannot be overly cautious.

It could be but after a month babies tend to skip a few days sometimes. Wait one more day and give your doctor a call if she still hasn't pooped. Don't let it go more than 5 days though.

The formula could have gotten her a little constipated. You need to call her doctor ASAP. You need to get her unclogged and the doctor is the best person to give this advice.

sometimes, not always though, breast feed babies don't have a BM for days, because the breast milk is so nutritionally complete.
If your baby isn't showing signs of discomfort, don't worry about it. If your baby does not have a BM in the next 2 days, consult your doctor, or if you are really concerned, call your doctor.

4 days seems a little too long to me. I waited no more than two days with my girl. Call her pediatrician and see what they want you to do.
