because after we got married he became someone i did not like or even know. he made promises that he did not keep and he lies a great deal. he pawned his wedding ring and never got it out of the pawn shop. i am slightly repulsed when he touches me. he does not even finish me off. i have to do it myself. he is not the man i thought he was or the man i thought he would eventually be.

because over time they began to become somebody who they weren't. and eventually the person i loved was replaced by everything i didnt want. instead of nice they were just incredibly mean. so in essence i didn't stop loving them, i just accepted that the person i love wasn't coming back. and it was time to move on.

First he became critical, then controlling, then obsessive, then possessive, then violent. That would stop the love wouldn't it? So I left him. Three years after that, I found Mr Fantastic.

He told his ex I was smothering him and being an embarrassment, apparently unaware that she and I happen to be pretty good friends. Well, he figured it out after I called him an ******* in front of fifty-plus people and that I hoped he would die a horrible death.

In the case of my daughter's father:
He did not love me, nor did he have an ounce of respect for me. He thought he loved me, and our child kept us together a long time.
It is impossible for love to be sustained when it is not fed, with love and respect; it just dies.
