There you go. Jefferson will get no support because Democrats can see beyond the party for the good of the country.

Two reasons:

1. Tom DeLay was a leader in the party and had a lot of friends, while William Jefferson is a peripheral politician without much pull.

2. William Jefferson was caught taking a direct bribe which doesn't leave much room for defense. DeLay was only seen with campaign contributions which some might have interpreted were designed to influence his vote. There was never any money found in his freezer, and there was never any personal bribery suggested.

As an Independent thinker and voter, I do not defend anyone linked to criminal activity.
This is what the investigative process is for. The Republicans had no problem with investigating Clinton for everything under the sun, but change their stance when the "Hammer" falls on one of their own.

William Jefferson has now been indicted, we shall see what happens.

Are you asking a question or answering one. The Democratic Party is full of corruption, they just do nothing about it. They are defending him, in a backhanded sort of way. Give it time they'll show their hand.
