I agree. There is a middle ground on this issue: PREVENTION and EDUCATION.
But polarization is what butters every politicians' and activist groups' bread.

I agree with your brother: Pro-choice to an extent. Birth control and condoms are for people who aren't ready to have a baby. If you were pregnant and you or the baby (or both) could die during delivery, why would it be worth it? Let's say you are not emotionally mature to have a baby or are just not ready? While this scenario is very different and I would lean toward pro-life in this situation, many would argue that it is not fair for this child. Children who are unwanted but still born into the family are often neglected, abused, or just all around miserable and uncared for, due to pressure from those around them and by the culture of today. Another thing to realize is even though a vast majority of the people who are pro-life want it to be illegal to get an abortion, would it really be smart? When they did try and make abortions illegal, people would still do it unprofessionally and sometimes even to themselves. The women and the unborn babies would often die due to this because they would be alone trying to do it with terribly horrid items like a coat hanger. There are circumstances that I do not believe in abortion. The woman who have an abortion at 7 months are just terrible people in my opinion. I do NOT support abortion there because often the abortions are unintended deliveries and live babies are sitting in this hospital with a mother who does not want them. Another is partial birth abortion, where the mother is in the middle of delivery and she gives direction to the doctor to kill the baby. Abortion, in my opinion, is not right when the baby has the ability to survive if it were to be delivered at the very moment. Abortion is still a difficult topic to debate on. There are the die-hard catholics who shun those who have gotten an abortion, and there are those who believe it can be right in certain situations. It's just all gonna depend on who you talk to.

Everything is pro choice. Your own. Everyone knows what causes pregnancy and most people at a very early age know right from wrong. Education and prevention accomplishes what? Billions have been spent on this over the years and I don't see it has helped at all.

I believe in sex after marriage, which was great 50 years ago. Now that human rights have had their way, we live in a feel good society that doesn't believe in correcting children. We don't teach about consequences anymore.
So...with that said... I am pro-life and pro-education. Girls should know the facts and why it is good to wait till marriage. Sexual diseases, pregnancy, emotional problems. These should all be discussed.
A young lady I know actually didn't know you could get preg from your first sexual encounter. She of course got pregnant. I blame her parents for this ignorance. She made a mistake and paid the price. She now has a beautiful happy healthy little girl that is so precious.
My cousin (who's not Christian) became preg. out of wedlock and ALL her friends told her to have an abortion. Like, oh it's no big deal...you don't want that burden. These pro-choice people weren't there to support her when she "choose" to keep the baby. Only one person came to her shower. It was our family that helped her thru it.
Anyways...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We have been trying to educate and prevent all that stuff for a long time but unfortunately it hasn't worked that much. In the meantime, we still need to use band-aids while we find the cure.

That would require being pro active and not just shooting off your mouth one way or the other.
For pro active social programs to work first you would have to first break the cycle of self absorption and greed..

We are the "after the fact" country. They would rather push abstinence than face the reality that teenagers are going to "do It". They would rather put an addict or a mentally ill person behind bars than find the help they need. And on and on and on.

Gee, you've suggested prevention. Preventing crime; preventing accidential pregnancy. Gee, why hadn't anybody else ever thought of that? How gifted you are!! You've thought of something NOBODY else have ever thought of before!! Glory to you!! You've suggested an idea NOBODY else even dreamed of!!
Now, suggest HOW to accomplish it!!!!

I am a conservative. I am pro life and also pro death penalty. How can I be both?
The difference is that convicted criminals have had the opportunity to lead a productive life in society. They chose to stray and commit crimes.
A baby does not have that opportunity. Therefore, in my eyes, it is murder.
You will never prevent crime. Refer to the Holy Bible.
You will also never prevent teenage pregnancies, especially with the decline of morales in our society.
