Go to the SS office in person.

No you will not get any of it back until you retire.

If you do not get definate answer then and there then go see your congressman or cenetor and they will call the SS office and then you will get answers very fast.

I say this because so many of the people that work in those offices think they can give people the run around by saying come back next week or some BS. It only takes two minutes to find out the information. It is in all the computers.

there is a web site but I find it is very little help.

I got a statement from the Social Security Administration this week that had that information. I get these statements every few years, but didn't when I was younger. If you don't get these statements, I suspect you could call the Social Security office nearest you and ask. Look in the government section of your phone book. Or you might try their web page.
