Looking for info on an old GM motor. Front pad on block reads 17W214507 K05 30 CPY. Any info would be great.

Casting numbers on rear of block are hard to read. It could be any of these three - 430778, 403778, 400778

Try a Chevy car club or message board for anyone with some old parts books that can look up the front pad numbers and decode them...I think the CPY code identifies what year car or truck it came in---the rest of the numbers are VIN code of the vehicle it was in and plant designations/build shift/date stamp.
Wish I'd kept my old books....25 years in GM parts, service and bodyshop
