Yep, it's without a doubt the best school in the country. I just finished the best 4 years of my life there. We've won the last 2 basketball championships, the last football championship, and don't forget being #1 in gymnastics. We also have a few Olympic swimmers. As for academics, we're pushing to be a top 10 Business school, which we're very close to. You can't beat Gainesville, the weather's nice and you can get to Tally, Jax, Orlando, Tampa, and St. Augustine beach pretty quickly. And Gators have the best pride in the country. Go Gator Nation!

I think you need to get out more. Literally.
U of F (Go F.U.!) is a not-bad state university. It isn't the best at anything. Although, they are in the top 20 for state schools, and they have been in the top 20 for athletics around the country, and they have actually had a few Rhodes Scholars, so that isn't too bad - way better than say, U of Maryland. So, overall they are respectable. But they are also huge and another one of those schools where you have your student ID number tatooed on your forehead as a freshman so they can tell you apart from the rest of the herd.
It is good to have school spirit, but it is also good to have a reality check once in a while also.
