if your son is not 18 or over, he CANNOT legally be bound to any kind of CONTRACT........ therefore, if, as I believe they do, EBAY considers it a "contract" when a seller and buyer make a transaction, then you are NOT liable to the buyer because your son was under age... I would check with a lawyer however just to be on the safe side. If the object in question is something you VALUE sentimentally or monitarily, you should NOT have to give it up just because your SON is a jerk.... but, if it's NOT something you value all that much and wouldn't mind parting with it---you COULD sell it to the buyer and keep the money for yourself and punish your son in another way----like putting a BLOCK on the computer so he can't use it at ALL for maybe 6 months!!!!!

How old is your son ? If he's 18 or over, the problem is his, not yours.
I assume this item is something of great financial or emotional value to you, and you do not wish to part with it.
Ebay policies on seller refusal to perform are pretty specific, and failure to perform may result in cancellation of priviliges to use Ebay.
However, as far as a lawsuit is concerned, I think your chances of being successfully sued are low. If this buyer lives in a different state, engaging you in litigation in YOUR state (which is what he must do) will prove to be very expensive for him.
Only you can decide if the monetary and emotional value of this item is worth the risk, but I'd venture that it would have to be a VERY valuable item for him to go through the expense of 'foreign litigation'.
If you have further concerns, contact an attorney for guidance. Many will give you an opinion on your situation for no charge.

Let eBay know with the dispute -- let them battle it out. Plead your case to ebay - they may make them drop the whole thing, but will probably cancel your son's account. If not, I'd get a lawyer.

Well, if your son is a minor, you may be off the hook. If the account is in your name, you might have some explaining to do. Contact ebay and tell them what you told us.

probably not true and if it is.. well you are partly to blame for allowing your son unmonitored access to your computer.
Contact eBay. return the persons money, punish your kid, and block his computer (internet) access.
