Imunity is out of the question,
Making him talk is also not right.
He did something he should not have done and now he needs to pay the piper.
I am a yankees fan but nobody is above baseball law, the unwritten rules, or the government.

I think that it is unfair how MLB is forcing Jason Giambi to talk. He doesnt have to talk if he doesnt want to but he did a bad thing so he should just fess up...and admit that he was wrong. I love Giambi but i think he should do whats right and thats to tell the truth. Barry Bonds on the other hand...i think that he should be band from baseball and not be able to be deducted into the hall of fame. I hate Bonds and i think that he's a cheater and a liar and i just hate him. He's a bad person and a fake baseball player. Giambi on the other hand is a great man and an amazing baseball player. He is adored by fans and i love him alot. GO GIAMBI!!! i luv you!! GO YANKEES!!! =)

Of course it is unfair. They are dangling him around like a puppet. Don't get me wrong, cheating is cheating and he is guilty of it. This thing with the Mitchell guy has no subpoena power at all. If Giambi says he does not want to talk he does not have to and they cannot do anything about it, except of course suspend him or void him from his contract. Giambi will slowly disappear out of the league in a year to two kind of like Palmero did. Why would a current player who fans and teammates seem to pull for, rat his own "brotherhood" out? I could understand if they were going for a FORMER MLB player who wanted to kick up dirt, but to ask a current player to be a rat?, I do not see it happening... What will MLB get out of it? Maybe 15-30 names to go on. If you can't bury every player that cheated than why bury a few...

Giambi brought that upon himself when he testified in congress that he never took steroids..Hello!..I think it's not fair to people like Babe Ruth, Hank Arron, or any of the other greats that Giambi and those like him have lied and used steroids to get past the old and those that are dead and never used these products..just to make history?..hello!? that is not fair..and I think any of those guys should have their titles stripped if they did use steroids...

There are rumors that they are offering a reduced suspension AND he won't have to point the finger at any other player.
THAT is a pretty decent deal - they are making it worth his while rather than trying to force him.
I imagine that part of the deal in the reduced suspension is him waiving his right to appeal. Otherwise the players union will jump all over this.

I think he's brought it on himself in two ways:
1) He used banned substances, whether or not they were illegal at the time.
2) He denied use of them for a long time publicly, then admitted the truth to a grand jury. Then, recently, he blamed baseball for not facing up to its problems. He'd be a serious hypocrite if he didn't face up to his own issues.

A few years back he admitted to using so why not leave him alone? Try going after Bonds for a change.
