There is never a lock in the sports world. Ever.
That said, I'd have to say that the Pats are the favorite for the big game but as we've seen so many times in the past, things change. First, they have to create a team chemistry with their new players ... something I hear is going well. Second, they need to avoid injuries. An injury to a big player can certainly determine the outcome of their season. Lastly, they need to avoid becoming complacent and just assuming that they're going to make it. If they get cocky, they won't play with the fire that it takes to win.
I wouldn't mind. I'm a Cardinals fan but since they're never in the playoffs, I'll root for the Pats once the season's over.

No, the Pats are suffering good now as that's and the Steelers are going to be a tough team this weekend. If the Pats do beat the Steelers, I nonetheless experience that they could lose to a Giants team that must be combating for a playoff spot and the Patriots starters ought to sit down down out the final interest. as far with the aid of fact the SB, i think that the Pats have the suited shot at winning it. regularly occurring, i think of the Pats will win the SB yet no longer with a suitable checklist.

I think that they are a top favorite to win. Look at the people that they picked up. With Moss, they are in a win win situation. If Moss plays good, that is a good thing. If he desides to be his old self. The Pats only gave up a 4th round pick. Plus, Moss came here and re did his contract for less money. With Thomas at LB, that adds more to a better run defense. Samuel, I think that he is just being an idiot for not taking the franchise tag. Yeah, the contract would be for $7 million, just take the money for the year. Then become a free agent and go from there.
As a whole, the Patriots are the favorite for the Super Bowl.

Too many factors in the NFL to make anything a lock
-Injuries
-Any team can win on any given day
-Weather in playoff games
-The Rams were a 14pt fav in the superbowl over the Pats, and they lost! So that can happen to NE if they get to the SB and are favorites

Pats improved themselves no doubt but a lock? No way. The AFC will be VERY competitive once again. There are probably 6 to 8 teams in the AFC with a legitimate chance at the SB. No one is a lock.

A lock? Not by any means.
They signed too many big-time WRs & aren't going to be able to get the ball to all of them.
They still have questions in the secondary & their defensive stars are aging.
While I don't wish it on any team or player, they could end up with an injury to a key player. I doubt anyone would call them a lock if it was Matt Cassell behind center or Sammy Morris starting at RB.
That said, they are a very strong team & if there's a team that's a lock to at least make the playoffs, it's them.

Its June. No one is a lock to win the super bowl or the world series, maybe the NBA championship. Injuries can kill a team's chances. What if Tom Brady tears an ACL in preseason. How are they looking now? Let's wait until december and see where everyone is sitting.

No team is a lock, but the Pats have a legitimate shot. If they can get anything out of Moss, they will be dangerous. The Colts are still the team to beat.
