Don't answer this question, if you are going to tell me not to do it or anything else that doesn't involve a direct answer to the question. The oc colon cleansers range from $30-$50, can I just use fleet oral solution? I have a strong medical history of colon problems, as well as a family history. My GP and a surgeon that removed part of my colon a couple of years ago suggested it, but I never have tried it. What about taking large amounts of bulk fiber and water? Please if you have genuine knowledge of this question, I would appreciate your answers.

I've lost my job and health insurance, that is the reason I am asking this here, instead of my gastroenterologist's office.

An inexpensive and effective way to clean the colon, I did this twice after returning from two extended stays in foriegn countries, is to use Espon salts. Most salts containers have the method on the package. Usually you just put a couple of table spoons full in a glass of warm water in the morning and drink it. Taste like salt water. Follow it up by 6-8 glasses over the course of the day. Stay close to home! Takes one day and flushes your colon out without high fiber or strong laxatives.
Good luck.

Please don't take bulk fiber. This is not a digestable form of fiber. If you want fiber do research on what vegetables give you fiber. There are alot out there just look it up. I don't remember off the top of my head which ones have high fiber content. A colon cleanse would be good. I do this three times a year and inexpensively. It costs $25-$30. This is what I do and works wonderfully and I'm not on the toilet during the entire cleanse as some other cleanses make you.
Take Black Walnut hull tincture (made from the green hulls):
1st day: 1 drop
2nd day: 2 drops
3rd day: 3 drops
to
25th day: 25 drops
26th day: 24 drops
27th day: 23 drops
to
50th day: 1 drop
Takes these drops in juice or milk.
Take 1 tsp food grade diatomatious earth everyday (you can find it online)
Clove oil - take a q-tip, dip in clove oil and put it on the outside and inside of gums everyday.
Its simple, doesn't take alot of time and its inexpensive. And most importantly it works.
If you are nursing you can still do this. Just take activated charcol. If you can go to a health food store and have them do a muscles test to see how much you need to take. If not take 2 pills but no less. You can not overdose on charcol but it will make you constipated if you take too much. If thats the case just drink some apple juice or eat something that will loosen stools.

I would suggest that you get hydro-colon therapy which is the same thing as a colonic. You can do a search on the web to find a practitioner in your area. It's really not bad at all. The practitioner that I see uses very discrete procedures. I always feel great after wards and I find myself being more careful about what I eat as I feel "clean" inside and don't want to junk it up too quickly. I have a lot of colon cancer in my family. My grandmother has a colostomy...it's not "pretty" if you know what I mean. The procedures can be costly I pay $75 for one but I think it's well worth it. Good Luck. k.

Normally, moderate Fiber intake and Roughage would be sufficient for most people, but you have had Surgery. Follow the Doctor's advice, and try it Short Term, and keep them appraised of your Progress. I know 2 people who tried this, and didn't Notice a change, so went to a High Fiber diet. This seemed to "Regulate" matters well, in the Long Term, but I couldn't say that the Colon Cleansers didn't "pave the way"

There are many websites dedicated to this. Some natural ways are a few days of just vegetables and LOTS of water. Things like carrots and celery "scrub" out your system. There is also a procedure know as a Colonic. It doesn't sound fun but if your doctor suggests a cleansing, it is the "mechanical" way to go. Good Luck...

Stanley Burroughs has a publication observed as "The grasp purifier" it is approximately $6.50. It has the "Lemonade eating habitual" and the Salt Water Cleanse. i've got had ideal consequences with this for bowel cleansing. completely low-priced and organic and does not require enemas, colonics, and so on. Get it, study it and verify.

I am sure you can go to any health food store and buy a product for colon cleanz. Some as cheap at $10. A professional session can cost between US$80-250, depending on your locality.

I understand that you want to save money, but given that you had surgery on your colon, it's necessary to have a licensed colonic therapist do it instead of you taking some tablets.
You may need to pay even more money if there's some problems

you've had part of your colon removed and you are asking strangers in Yahoo Answers for medical advice! My advise is go to your doctor!! You might get an inexpensive remedy recommended, but if your health suffers negatively, you'll pay a huge personal price.

Clear liquid diet 2-3 days days and then lots of raw veggies and water.
Also take acidophilus/bifidus found in the cool section of the vitamin/herb part of most grocery stores.
It would be best to take a cleansing supplement along with this - check out this website for herbs.
