Ordonez is hitting around .370 this year with a career average of about .290. Lee is hitting .340 this year with a career average about .280. Lee might have a little more power and Ordonez will hit for a little better average. Since their performance on the field is close you would have to look at other issues. I didn't like to see the injury Ordonez came down with a few years back and believe he is more of a risk to go down than Lee. Therefore, Lee would be my long term choice.

If the salaries are close, I rather have Magglio Ordonez on my team. He was clutch hitter last season and he really is the all star for the Tigers. Derek Lee plays well with the Cubs this season. But I don't think I could have on my team rather than Magglio. Derek Lee is not the player when he was in Florida winning World Series in 2003. Magglio Ordonez is one of the best hitter in AL and I think he would bring Tigers to the World Series again.

If it's just for one year I'll take Ordonez, he's on fire. If it's longer term I'll take Lee, only because of the injury risk that Ordonez seemingly presents based on the last few years and his lack of production during those years. Can't exactly explain what's going on with Magglio this year (even though I've always thought of him as a very solid player), but he's on my fantasy team and I'll gladly take it!

It's been a long time since Magglio's injury. He had a solid season last year and is returning to pre injury form this season. He is having an outstanding year against an overall better American League when compared to the national league talent. I would take Maggs, but I am also biased as a Tiger's fan.

This season: Magglio. Career: Lee. Magglio is hot right now, but Lee seems to be very consistent.

Mags by a mile. The Cubs suck, so there are too few men on when Lee bats to really rack up RBIs. i also think Lee is a bit overrated. And to the previous answer, Lee had an injury last year and he sucked. Lee is definitely worth less, not 500gs more.
