I think by now people are realizing that violence cannot be solved with more violence. The fighting goes on, what has been accomplished? I think with the results of the war so far more and more people will be taking this all in and teaching their children that such acts cannot continue. There must be other ways to solve the issue if anyone is to survive it. We continue going on with violence upon more violence, not much will be solved.

War is a bit more complex than that. While war is certainly heinous, it is a consequence of an imperfect world. Since there will never be a Utopian society this side of heaven, war is a certainty of life.
If parents are really the best influence in their children's lives as all the research seems to indicate, it is more important for parents not to live a life that says violence is the answer.
A government's role is defense of that society. This sometimes necessitates war. If a child understand the roles of the individual, the family, the community and the government, this will be less of a problem for him/her.
In the U.S. though, we seem to be more interested in surface controversies rather than committing to living right.

Well, weakminded children can be thought that anything can solve things, including violence. They mostly get it from movies, not war.Wars did happen and will happen, that's normal.Children also need to know that some things MUST be solved by a form of violence (not real violence, but self deffence and simillar), if someone attacks them, they must know to defend themselves, war and military teaches them that.I am 100% sure not war

The problem is that very little attention is given to the "build-up" (negotiations, etc.) and too much attention is given to the act itself.
Children need to be taught that, yes, sometimes violence is justified, but only after ALL other avenues have been exhausted. They also need to be taught that violence begets violence. Every action has an equal an opposite reaction (basic physics). Children should learn to solve problems by first attempting to use their minds and only use their fists when necessary.
If someone throws the first punch, however, the gloves come off...

If you are trying to use the war to teach your children anything you have problems. War, is a neccesary evil in the world. Are you saying that if a bully is terrorizing your son on a daily basis, you wouldn't teach him to fight back? Good for you, but then your son is going to take a lot of ridicule. Sometimes, violence is a result when all other means are exhausted.

I will say this on that subject. If my son gets into a fight because he had to defend himself he gets suspended and there is involvement with the courts and a 365 dollar fine. This was the first incident. Just the other day he didnt have a chance to fight back because three kids jumped him. Filed a police report and the Cop say. You did the right thing by not fighting back. Idiotic Pig. So they teach in the schools and by the cops that fightning back is not the right thing to do. But then this country sends off 18yr old boys and girls to go kill other poor people in another country. Hipocrites.

As there is a war going on almost all of the time, most children have grown up with war in the background. Perhaps not on their land (like America) but the Americans seem to be at war ALL THE TIME. I believe, yes, it does have an influence on children. The good ones grow up anti-war and the sheep mentality ones repeat their father's sins.

A lot more things than war are teaching that. Let's face it: to children, war is very far away. The entire attitude in the US right now is teaching them violence. The laissez-faire teachers, the media, the parents who couldn't care less what their kids do.

No, because some very peaceful people were born during war times (think hippies versus WW2).
I think war teaches children that war is not the answer (but George Bush skipped that day in class!).

If you want your kid to spend his/her entire life hiding from reality then go right ahead .
When Johnny has his lunch money taken have the district attorney's office issue a warrant for the arrest of the three bullies on racketeering and extortion charges . This will prepare him to hide while others do the fighting and dieing Just like George Bush DID .
So I guess someday your weasel of a kid will grow up to be president .
What he should do is gather up all the kids who have been bullied and coral the kid or kids doing it . demand a repayment schedule be adhered to or there will be consequences . If this method does not work they kick the crap out of those bullies .
By the way it is possible to beat the crap out of someone . A good beating can cause the bowels of the victim to let lose .
Why do you think they call it beating the S**t out of someone .
