The baby is only about the size of a large orange. No, it is not unheard of to drop weight, especially if you are eating more healthy. You are probably not consuming nearly so much fat or carbs as you were before you got pregnant. I wouldn't worry until you hit about the half way point. So long as you keep eating healthy the baby will gain weight.

yes, you should be gaining weight, your baby is taking a lot from you, be careful that you do not loose too much weight. I would not worry about how much weight you gain, I gained 50lbs with my first and lost it all afterwards, and 30 lbs with the 2nd, and have already lost 20lbs and it's been 2 months. Keep choosing the right foods, and take your prenatal vitamins. They are for you not the baby. The Baby has 1st dibs, and if you aren't eating enough, you will loose muscle, bone density, your natural stores of calcium which will cause tooth decay, so eat up! and congratulations!

How much weight you gain during pregnancy doesn't really concern the Docs. With my 3rd child, I only gained 5 kilos (11 lbs). I was concerned, but not the Doc! He would feel the baby, ask how I was feeling, and as we were both doing fine, he said 'relax & don't worry'. Baby weighed 7lbs. Just a word of warning. It's easy to gain weight during pregnancy, there are a million excuses. 'I'm eating for 2" or "I'm allowed to be fat at the moment, I'll get rid of it later'. Weight gained during pregnancy can be very hard to lose later on. At the moment, your baby's weight is negligible, but there are other bits of you that grow too, expanding uterus, giant breasts, increase in blood volume etc, so it's not unusual for you to be gaining weight now, just keep an eye on it. Meanwhile, relax & enjoy your pregnancy!

I`ve lost my appetite completely but I try to eat for the baby.. your appetite will come back cuz ur baby is gonna go thru some growth in the next few weeks dont worry. Every woman gains and loses weight during pregnancy

1 pound over 2 days is not worth worrying about as anyone's weight can fluctuate that much normally due to water retention and other normal reasons. Keep an eye on it and go to the doctor if you lose more, but it is normal for it to fluctuate 1 or 2 pounds over a couple of days. Everyone's weight does.

When I was about 14 weeks pregnant, I had lost 5 pounds because I had bad morning sickness. You will start gaining weight soon.

It is ok to lose weight at first, as long as it is not too much, your body will adjust to the bb, have you had morning sickness? If so, this might have something to do with the loss in weight. Just make sure you keep eating healthy.

It's very common to lose weight at the beginning of your pregnancy. Dr's are not too concerned about it as long as your uterus is growing and the baby is on track. If you lose too much weight, the dr may do an ultrasound just to check the baby. One pound is nothing to worry about. Just keep track and report to your doctor each month!
