Whether they are true or not? The reason I ask is because every day I come on here and see posts about liberals hating America (not true), liberals supporting Al Queda (not true), liberals loving Rosie (not true), liberals being hippies (not true). It seems like even though a majority of the people that agree with these ideas seem to be intelligent people, they agree with the statements. Is it just that they want to be supported in their statements, regardless of the veracity of the statement? Is this the reason shows like Rush and Hannity are so popular, because they support these completely ridiculous stereotypes?

I don't think the issue is about liberal hating america or supporting al queda, its that we disagree on the solution to the problem.

Most Democrats view terrorism as a law enforcement issue. Republicans view this as both. Use the FBI, ATF, and other government agencies to find the people and bring them to justice. However we also believe that this is also a problem best handled by the military.

I also believe that some of the statements made by Rosie and John Kerry and other democrats (implying our troops are terrorists in their statements or trying to give terrorists legal rights) either 1) shows a lack of judgment or 2) the are unamerican. Which is it?

There is an old saying, lead, follow or get out of the way. Some democrats are incapable of leading, so either follow or get out of the way.

Probably a pack animal kind of support required to feel in allegiance with others sharing their beliefs. In our era, the really scary rhetoric of the John Birch Society has become accepted and mainstream because of TV and radio broadcasters. It is a turn for the much worse witnessed in the last 30 years.

Stereotypes and false claims go both ways. All cons love Rush Limbaugh (not true), all cons are rich (not true), all cons are war mongers (not true). Don't be so naive.

I think it is human nature to seek validation of your beliefs whether you are conservative or liberal, I see the same thing on both sides of the issue here. Maybe, you just notice the opposing side more because they are not validating your beliefs?

They really just want to cram down everyone else's throat so it appears as though all their half baked ideas make them more interesting and powerful.
Common tactic of those who feel marginalized and powerless in their private life.
Similar to suicide bombers who leave you little choice in the matter.
