Start > Run > Type in: charmap

A window will open that displays all the characters available in the font you are using. Go through and find the degree symbol. Place your cursor over it and it will show you a kdy combination you can enter to type the symbol. You can also click on it, click the select button (which copies it to the clipboard) and then go to your document and do a paste.

I use superscript with 0 or O.

when using MS word, click Insert and then Symbol and choose the degree symbol from there. don't use the superscript of "o" or "0" coz it looks very odd and obvious.
