Try to stay away from credit cards but sometimes it's necessary. We are living somewhat beyond our means.

My husband and I have a specific budget and we only spend a certain amount of money per month on food, bills, and extras. We do have one credit card, and what we do is we buy something we want. Then we pay it off in 2 or 3 payments. Then we buy something else and then pay that off. Try not to max out a c.c. cuz then you will be in a lot of trouble.

I definately live on a budget. I used to use plastic and it landed me in bankruptcy which is not a nice place to be.

I do both. I have a budget (being on a fixed income makes that necessary), and pay everything with my credit cards.
I pay the balances in full each month so there is no interest charge, and the statements give me a complete record of all my expenses.

Only fools rely on credit, I don't owe anyone anything and I like it that way! I couldn't borrow a nickel and I couldn't care any less, debt free is the only way to go. It is too easy to get over extended, if you have to have everything that the Jone's have, you might as well have the debt too, it's not like they changed the bankruptcy laws to ruin every aspect of your life and you can not default on the principal, just the interest, as long as you owe banks you are their slave, you actually work for them. I get to keep every dime I ever make, occasionally I will have to pay sales tax on something every once in a while, and I am not breaking one single law either! Suckers!

We live on a cash basis, only!

We only pull out the plastic in cases of emergencies, or when buying stuff online.

(Unfortunately, that means that we don't go the mall and do "binge" shopping very often). Basically, if we don't have the cash on hand (literally), then we don't buy it!
