I want to go to the University of South Florida, but don't know if I am ready yet. What tip can you give me about going away to college?

It'll give you more freedom, though that is also the con as well. It's going to be up to you to mature and set your priorities where they should be as a college student. Don't worry at all about going somewhere new and being on your own, because you will make friends during orientation and just being around. So again, it depends on your personal characteristics: are you the type that is very family oriented and need to be around your own hometown, or are you more independent and ready to go out on your own? When there is the question about if you are ready or not, look at many aspects.
What kind of questions do you have about going to college in general.
Such as:
It is a big school, don't want to become a number.
Not ready to be far away from home,
Help with school work.
The cost.
Who will be my roommate.
No vehicle, getting around.
Have you considered a Community College to start then transfer? Visit both, compare and contrast.

The pros are all of the above plus you have to grow up in some areas and in a hurry because mom or dad can't come to the rescue immediately. It's a good thing.
The biggest con is cost. If you go to school in your town, you can live at home probably rent free and food for free too. If you go away, you'll have to pay for both.

pros: you will learn responsibility, be able to do what you want with your life, have time without your parents, "freedom"
cons: you may begin to miss your family, and at first you may mess up a little but after time, you will get used to it
