I've heard arguments that it enhances marriages, especially the sex life within a marriage. I've also heard arguments that it detracts from the same. I'm looking for married people on Y! Answers to weigh in with their opinions. One-liner response answerers need not bother.

It completly depends on the couple and their individual feelings. My ex wife enjoyed it in the marriage and it enhanced things. My current wife is quite repulsed by it so it has no place in our marriage and is certainly not necessary. So again , it depends entirely on the couple and their individual feelings.

How about people in long-term relationships who haven't gotten married yet simply because of money? :D

I'm answering anyway.

Both my future husband and I watch pornography; however, we mostly view it in privacy. We have watched it together, but as we've both used pornography as masturbatory aids, we've both felt a little weird watching it together.

As we are both entirely OK with masturbation and pornography now, it will obviously have a place in our marriage. We don't feel it detracts from our relationship, and we are both happy with our sex life. We both also feel that pornography can be a great sexual aid, but like I said, we both still feel a little weird. And we don't really need any sexual aids anyway. :)

Regardless, we've discussed it thoroughly, and we have a healthy and happy relationship. Our individual viewing of pornography has not damaged the relationship at all, and our viewing of it together was an experiment that we may repeat later on.

Hope that helps. :)

To me it doesn't make any difference. I met my wife when we were students in the 70s. We saw "Deep Throat" together on campus. There were a bunch of students there. That was just curiosity to us.

Like all things, when an addict has a clouded mind and everything goes overboard. If a person or couple needs pornography to help their sex life or else nothing doing, that's addiction and is unhealthy.

Modesty is best policy and the policy must include not exposing children to porn.

I like porn. The human body is a beautiful work of art. I am secure enough with myself that I don't mind if my husband enjoys a little eye candy. I know that I'm the most beautiful woman in his eyes. We look at porn alone and together. We both have our own magazine collections, and own a few DVDs. I even offered to take him to a strip club before. I don't care if some other woman turns him on because I know who he sleeps with every night and who he rushes home to after work.

My husband and I view pornography as a sex toy. That does not degrade the 'actors' in porn or sex. We don't use it together, mostly because it's not my thing, but I don't mind if my husband has a look. It's the lazy man's fantasy as much as the vibe is the lazy fingers joy! Haha! I feel it's not healthy to have a sex life without masturbation.

I'm not married but have been with my partner for 11 years. We use Porn sometimes to spice things up a bit occasionally. I don't see it as a problem as long as both parties are willing to do so. It can be very advantageous as it is one way of picking up and trying new techniques with each other which can improve the passion in a relationship. as long as it does not take over your love making I reckon it is fine.

Pornography does make the live spicy provided both like it. It shud however be borne in mind that the type of action and performances available in such video r not capable of being achieved by an ordinary human being.

You have to understand why you are using it.

I know a couple that use it in order to see what the "latest moves" are and they experiment

Some use it as a kind of foreplay foreplay to "get the juices flowing".

Some more sinister ones use it to show tha t"other women do this and like it."

But you must be careful. Porn can be extremely corrosive to any relationship, especially when it is a full substitute.

So, to not fully give you an answer, it depends on what kind of relationship the couple has and whether or not the feel porn is an adjunct to it.

For me, personally, I find it destructive

Yes it does. My husband tend to look at pictures and flicks from time to time. I don't think that in enhances marriages, but detracts away from them. The constant stimulation from it can cause you to not want to have sex at all. If it is done occasionally, then I guess it is okay.

i think that if it becomes such an obsession that it interferes with your sex life (like on partner pleasures themselves to porn so much they have no interest in the other partner) then it is a big problem
However if both partners are open to looking at it together they can have a heighented sex life
Or if one partner enjoys it but also still enjoys their partner a lot then its not a problem

I love the movie eurotrip by the way

My husband and I never sit down and watch those films, but during a trip we overnighted at a hotel and turned on the tv, we saw there was a pron flick on so we watched it. Truth us, It aroused both of us. Now I think I would not care to watch another film, as long as nothing too freaky is expected.
