Define local. The big-city anchors are well into six figures, if not possibly higher. The smallest markets might have anchors who make $20-$30 thousand when they just start. And there's a lot in between.

There was an article in TV Guide a few months ago about TV salaries. Average salary for a local news anchor is $75,000. Not too shabby.
