Depends on who you ask, we have Black Angus cows, which we think are the best beef breed, they have good meat, and they are good mums, and the calves are little fighters from the start. Although it makes sense to have them, if I had a choice I would choose to have Speckled Park cows, they are the newest recognised breed in Canada, and I think they're great. Check them out below

Normally the best for market price is a black angus cow. As far as temperment, I'd recommend Semital cattle. They are large cattle that are really friendly. They don't bring a high market price but they are very enjoyable to have on the farm. I call them the gentle giants of cattle. I believe Gurnsey cattle are the best milk cattle, although I'm not as familiar with dairy cattle.

Different breeds of cow are bread for different reasons?
Some produce better milk, some produce more milk and some are better for eating.
