Well, most people would say no because of your ages.
But, theres two ways to look at this.
She may be jumping ahead a bit, if you do not have the financial means to make a family work, you should wait and see if you both feel the same way in three or four years time when things may be better financially and your relationship is solid.

But if you dont want to wait that long, some people have children at a young age and make excellent parents - there is no right or wrong age to start a family. BUT you have to sit down and discuss this together - a child is for life, for both of you and it would be a better life if you did it together. If you want to work hard, starting NOW the first thing you need to save for is a wedding. Once you're married, and of course have somewhere to live, then you can make all the babies you want.

If you are prepared to make that commitment, then go right ahead and start planning for the world you want to bring your child into.

But if this sounds scary and too heavy right now, YOU are not ready. And to go into plans like this, you have to be adequately prepared, no loving father and husband would do anything less.

Maybe not run away but should tell her he is not ready for children. 17 and 18 is too young. I had my first at 19 and my friends anywhere from 16 to 20 and the ones that turned out good parents said that they wished they had waited and the ones that weren't good parents were the ones leaving there kids while they went out with friends or to parties saying they wanted to have fun still. All that got married during those ages are now divorced from their teen time hubby. One friend waited to get married until 23 and didn't have their first until 25 and they are still happily married, she is now 34. It is not that a 17 or 18 year old can't handle it, it is that they are still young and need time to have fun and usually don't realize that fact until it is gone, and they either throw their kids into second place in their lives or end up crying over their lost youth and time to have fun.

No way. She doesn't know what she is in for. Children are a big responsiblity, and at 17 years of age, I don't think she is ready to settle down and be a mother.
