...thinking about what they want? I was in Subway yesterday and the bread person was trying to keep the line moving and everyone wasn't paying attention to her and acted confused when she asked them "What kind of bread".

My friend
The basic truth is people are inconsiderate.
They are only concerned with themselves.
I get frustrated when I am behind someone in the bank drive-thru.

I always stand away from the counter and look at the menu to decide what I want before I even get in line.

I never eat at Subway. I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. Since I was unfamiliar with the way they do things, I was a complete imbecile when I got to the counter. I don't know what came over me but everything was different and I instantly turned into one of those moron people that I always hate and talk about when they are holding up the line. So there were jerks in more Subway lines then just yours....lol.

Uggh!!!! I'll never go back there again. It was a bad experience on horrible food.

I beleive this is a human mind downplaying one's choices in their food selection. "Should I eat healthy? or what would go well with my Italian BMT meat? "
Just like going to McDonalds, the same menu on the left is the same one on the right and not too mention that people have gone to the same fast food places and they have forgotten easily what they serve.."I want a Big Mac with Onion Rings and a Biggie Frosty".
People too need the assurance that they are getting the most for what they pay for and they justify that in what they are going to taste and put in their mouth's. "So do I want the 6" for 4.99 or the 12" for 5.99? Hmm...
The main reason is choice...it is all about choice.

I see the same thing at my job. I work concessions at a movie theater, and when things are busy, people aren't any more decisive in their order, even after having been in line for 10 or more minutes. I understand not knowing what candy they want, since they can't see the candy case if people are in front of them, but they have no idea what size popcorn they want, whether they want butter on it, what size or what variety drink they want. And then, they spend 5 minutes asking us if we have every product that we don't have.

They are so stupid that they can only think in the moment. They had no intellectual development since they were children.
Make sure they were not new to this country of going to Subway for the first time.

I don't know.

Probably for the same reason that people start rooting round in their bag for their cash card when they get to the front of the queue at an ATM or for their passport and travel documents when they are at check in at the airport...

Why people don't sort this out when they are in the queue being bored I don't know.

Its a good point. But a lot of people do it. I bet you even do it and don't know it. I guess it's easier to see and read the menu when its finally your turn.
