yes its safe kinda lots of people have bad shocks it would be the same the symptoms of a bad or no shock is possibly tire ware (cupping) if driven a long time say 2000 miles
you may experiance hopping or bounceing on a bumpy road and it may tend to sagg a little on turnes or sway a little none of wich will prevent you from driving the car all over town or on the freway

You can drive the truck like that at your own risk , but you must be careful on high speeds and sharp turns due the vehicle's handling charastics will be drastically different. I had a 94 tercel that the right rear strut rod (replaced the rear struts the year before and regretted it) protrude the strut mount acting as if the right rear strut was worn. Yes handling was different and had to be cautious on bumps and sharp turns. If you can park it for 2 weeks, I would highly recommend it since a pick up sits higher than a Tercel.

If you're moving it around the parking lot, I'd say it's okay. But keep this in mind: your shock absorber keeps your tire to the ground. That is required for accellerating, turning, and stopping. Do you think it's safe to drive if only 3 of your 4 wheels can help you accellerate, turn, or stop? Personally, I wouldn't.

Handling characteristics will be different especially around corners. Will have more body roll and you will want to overcompensate thru the steering.(If all shocks were missing, you would be continually bouncing after you hit a dip in the road for hundreds of feet.) It puts more stress on the other three, so get it replaced soon.

Lift up the rear end, and rotate the tires. Does it make the noise? People love to blame the wheel bearings, but the wheel bearings on a solid rear axle are not prone to failure. They aren't tapered roller bearings like on the front, they are just caged roller bearings riding on a flat surface (the axle). Extremely simple and reliable.

well that is for you to decide but personally i would not go n e where unless it is to a garage. when you drive like this it is like driving on three wheels. you are putting yourself at risk and as well as others !it is much easier to buy a new shock absorber then to buy a new truck ! good luck
