I realize that this is more of an individual trait based upon personality and life experiences, but I am wondering if any study has been done to show that one gender is more opinionated than the other.

What are your thoughts?

Bang on, you've got it.

Neither sex is inherently more opinionated than the other.

"The third gendered comparison, while NOT reaching statistical SIGNIFICANCE, indicated a modest trend with men WRITING [This does not imply internal opinions] more opinionated communications in two out of the three sex-typed categories (masculine and gender-neutral). Findings suggest that cyberspace, a context where gender of communicators is not salient, remains a male dominated atmosphere, where gender differentiation and power displays in communication persist, similar to other communication modes."

I believe gender makes us different both physically and emotionally. That said gender difference does not mean EVERYTHING about us is different.

For example: No one would ask if men have more eyes then women. On average we all have two regardless of gender. In the end the only things we can be certain are different between genders is genitals. Is it wise to go hunting around ?for other differences especially ones we will never truly be able to verify?

Perhaps this does not answer the question directly, but women clearly are more often dissatisfied with their marital relationships and therefore are far more likely to initiate divorce than are men.

Does that mean they are more opinionated? It just might.

In fact, wives are sometimes frustrated because their husband doesn't have *enough* of an opinion. Sometimes husbands just don't give a crap about things that the wife has strong opinions about. And that can drive her to frustration.

Does that mean women are more opinionated? It just might.

Actually, I would say both are probably about the same, but the way they handle it is different. Males would be more likely to be highly vocal/confrontational about an opinion than a woman. A woman might be more likel to acquiesce to a group's or individual's opinion. Outwardly, it would appear that males are more opinionated.

Its not according to gender... its according to a country based on their beliefs and morales.

I would say in some countries men and some women.

Mine being India would be men. The creatures always act like they own their land and am forever provin to them they are always WRONG!! LOL

I think women are more known to be opinionated, but only because the men I have known well over the years just don't voice their opinions as often as women do...I think men are very opinionated yet do not exhibit it verbally to others as much as they should or are willing to..but hey thats just my opinion..=)

I think the gay man is the most opinionated ... that's why so many are so good at interior designing. Darn-it ... why didn't I get the interior design gene???
