At least once a week, Gee used to be on the show. Letterman even had a billboard put up for the deli. Now, no Gee and the billboard is gone. What happened?

People were getting tired of Rupert. I'm sure he'll be back. You know, Rupert doesn't like to stay open for the dinner crowd. He makes his money during lunch. And Dave doesn't tape until 4:30 usually. I didn't know the billboard was gone. It's probably just rented for a certain length of time.
Dave doesn't use Pat & Kenny much anymore either, or the CBS page guy. I love him.

Why doesn't David Letterman use Hello Deli owner Rupert Gee in bits any more?

I always liked the Rupert segments. I'm sure Letterman will have him on the show again someday.

Bits get old you know? They can't keep doing the same thing over and over again.

It would become boring and predictable. Better to sprkle it in every so often.
