They had an entire segment on Popovich last night during halftime about how good of a person/coach he is. Must have missed that one.
Also, his players give a lot of interviews about how knowledgable he is about the game and what a great coach he is.

Yeah it's obvious that Coach Greg is a great coach
He is the foundation of the spurs dynasty
He's a defensive coach and that's his specialty i think.
You need offense to win a game. And defense can win you championships.
Look at the result, 3 championships in 8 years .
And it looks like going on four.
Oh man! Go SPURS Go...

it really doesn't matter what awards are bestowed upon Pop. he has three championships, going on 4. and has headed the most consistently dominant basketball team in the NBA over the last ten years.

he will unquestionably be a hall of fame coach, and definetely the best coach currently working in the NBA.

yes, they're talent in SA. but talented players can't be game winners, and completely effective unless thier coach teaches the team how to play well. I.E. look at the T'Wolves w/Garnett!

POPS is a great Coach..considered a first ballot hall-of-famer...and well regarded by his peers.
And he has no EGO, but a lot of pride.

Two examples:
1. his bringing in PJ Carlesimo when NOBODY would touch him after the Sprewell incident after-math, and giving him complete control of the Spurs defense.
and
2. his refusing to testify in the Larry Brown-Isiah Thomas settlement talks.

Great Coach and a class man.

purchase; With 4 titles and in all probability a 5th on the way Pop has proved it repeatedly (to undesirable 4 Sloan). i admire Jerry he's a huge coach, yet Pop has proved it repeatedly his genius of adapting his equipment to the gamers that he has. because of the fact he, Bodehotlzer & Holt have been mutually they have grew to become the Spurs into the prevailing-est franchise in ALL of professional activities. (for extremely almost two decades)SA has had a win proportion in common terms a hair decrease than 70%. No different team in any activity can experience that!

I think he is one of the best, defensive, and fundamental coaches ever that should definately be considered for the Hall of Fame. And yes he is reguarded by many as a GREAT coach. In fact, last night at the game, they had a whole segment on him at half-time.
