it does sometimes seem to be hard for them! but yes, to me, it happens more and more, i have even seen the employees fighting inside the window, i guess the stress gets to them,, it would seem simple to read the ticket, and put in the bag what the ticket says,
ps: what i started doing, unless the order was not something i could eat, was to call them when i got home, complain, they will comp you a free meal, and i have to admit, as a colledge student, after getting so many messed up meals, i sometimes when broke would call them and tell them my meal wasnt right, even when it was, so i could get a free one, lol , they didnt really seem to notice what they were shoving out the window anyway

A lot of the workers just don't care. I worked at a fast food drive through for 4 years and I hardly ever got an order wrong. Then there were other workers that got 10 orders wrong a day.
Fast food places go through employees very quickly too, so they may be quite new at their job.

All the time... I usually get something extra, something missing, something I didn't order, etc. But you know what makes me think twice about making a big deal about it. I used to work at a fast food place as a teenager. At that age, you don't care, you don't double check, and you're there coz you're parents told you that you need to learn to be responsible. So thinking back to those days, I just walk back in or drive through again and nicely remind them they made a mistake. After all, they are dealing with your food, doesn't that scare you a little.

And you wonder why other countries call Americans lazy!
I have this problem about 50% of the time when I go to my local McD's...and unfortunately it's because the managers hire individuals whose native language isn't English, yet the 'customers' are almost all English speaking...Do the math and you'll know why this happens! ;-)
It's for this reason, why I now go into the restaurant...but even then, that only cuts down on about 1/3 of the missed orders! DOH!

Take a look at who's handing you your order. That should tell you alot.
The exception I will make to that rule is the elderly. I get the absolute best service from those old "retired" folks that work at the fast food places to make some extra money. They actually care about their job and have those old fashioned work ethics that are lacking so severely in today's society.

i think they always pick the worst person to do the drive thru like the one that doesnt speak good english, because they dont care, and i think they should come up a touch screen design to take all the human interaction out of it completely, nevermind the drive thru they cant get the order right in the dine in area.

yeah, it probably gets pretty busy there. Like you've never made a mistake in your whole entire life, if your so worried about it, look in the bag before you drive a way.
