Actually, it's true that Disney is not expanding in the US at any time soon.

The parks they've already got are destination parks, meaning people take whole vacations there, thus with resorts on-site; versus Six Flags, which are regional parks that are just that--parks. Building another park in the US would mean taking business away from the other 2 (or 3 if you count Disney's California Adventure, across the street from Disneyland.) They are, however, building them up left and right overseas. Again, because they are destination parks.

At one point or another, every town and city has been the rumored recipient of a new Disney park. Chalk everyone of them up to urban legend. The Branson rumor most likely occurred because of some aggressive land developer looking to sell some un-prime real estate at top price under a false name, because this is how Walt Disney acquired the land in Orlando that DisneyWorld now operates on. Unless you hear it from Disney themselves, Disney isn't building a new park anywhere in the states anytime soon.

I haven't heard that. However, there was a report about 5 years ago about Disney wanting to come close to Branson...in North Arkansas between Branson and Harrison, in the Omaha, Arkansas area.

what Disney might do is expand their hotels. they have a couple of hotels (actually, part of their Vacation Club) that are not at the parks. one is in Vero Beach in Florida and the other is in Hilton Head, South Carolina. they are designed for people that want Disney Service but not necessarily want to go to a theme park.
