When I want to take a break from fast food I usually turn to indian cuisine. It's only barely more expensive than fastfood and extremely tasty.

I would suggest a chicken tikka masala and some roti bread on the side.

I have no idea if you like spicy foods and indian food tends to be quite spicy but most restaurants do serve a mild variety upon request.

Fried Calamari Salad. You can get it at an Italian restaurant or a nice steak house. It is so fantastic. I just ordered it because like you I had no idea what to get. Turned out to be very addicting. Yum!!!

I recently tried Thai food for the first time and really enjoyed the Shanghai Noodles and Pinapple Fried Rice.

I highly recommend it.
