I am having my driveway redone & was told it would be 2&1/2 in. rolled to 2 in. I thought it would be 3&1/2 to3 in.

actually it's whats under the asphalt that counts do you have a compacted aggregate sub base if you do then 2.5 inches should be sufficient i would load a 6 wheel dump with 8 to 10 tons of material and proof roll the sub base before installing the asphalt you should not see any pumping at all

2- 21/2 inch for a drive way.
It is not supporting the weight of a roadway
