Yes, if she was black and still Paris Hilton. This isn't a racial matter, it's a matter of how rich and famous she is. Any of us normal people would have still been in jail.

In the eyes of the mass media and the court system, a black woman does not portray the same 'helpless rich little waif' image as Paris Hilton, which I think played the largest role in her early release.

I can't say whether economics was a bigger factor than race once you're dealing with folks as gratuitously wealthy as Paris Hilton. An equally wealthy black woman may have recieved the same privileges as Paris Hilton (who was treated specially even while she was still in prison), but my intuitive answer is no.

The situation with Ms. Hilton is about more than race. While race has played a role in the way the situation has played it self out, one cannot ignore the class issues that are also very evident here. So a better question would be, "If Paris Hilton were and average american, would she be in jail?'' to that the answer is yes.

If Paris was black, rich, and a so called icon, then no, she would have never seen jail. the rules and law are made but yet they (highly paid lawyers) always find around them. This sickens me that she played ill to get out. Proves her an incompetent little wench.

No, if she was black and still Paris Hilton, rich and going to inherit way more then she would never have done what they charged her with. BUT if she was black and rich and was caught then she never would have gone to jail in Los Angeles.

whether Paris Hilton did circulate to detention center it may be like a rustic club kind detention center so what's the element? it may very almost be like the humorous tale community provider time that Naomi Campbell had to do in long island.

I don't think race was a factor in this matter. After all, money is what bought her some time. It sure isn't her being smart that got her out. Didn't OJ get off by playing the race card? He killed, someone else was stupid and violated probation. Didn't she serve more time than OJ?

She got out of jail because her daddy paid off her bail. It had nothing to do with her being white. If I remember correctly, Whitney Houston also got out of jail because she paid off her bail, and she's black. So the question is not "if Paris were black" but "if she were poor."

OJ never even saw the inside of the jail but its was not right releasing her after only 3 days if she was a normal hardworking citizen like you and me she would have served her full term

If she was black she wouldnt have a sprawling mansion, but, yes she still would be. Is OJ in jail? Is Wacko Jacko in jail? The answer is no, and we all know those 2 were guilty as hell. Money buys freedom.
