2003 VW wolfburg started shaking plus engine light came on?

Hi anyone know what it could be? My car started shaking as if it was going to shut off, then the engine light came on, the owner manual says it may be the catalitic converter however, I think it just may need some oil...someone help!!

Could it be the gas filter or air filter?

Since you don't have a clue, I would take it to a VW dealer.

It does not sound like an oil problem the catalitic converter will cause a noise It may engine mounts ~~
