One must have a full face of whiskers in order to have a full beard. Not every guy can grow a full beard-- I know a lot of guys that are "patchy" in that their beard growth is varied on their face, so they can't grow one. All you have to do to grow your beard is to not shave it; if it comes in with gaps and bare spots, you may want to compromise and grow a goatee or just side chops; most guys with facial hair can usually grow a mustache.

All of these answers are wrong...eat lots of protein filled foods and shave every other day after not shaving for a month. Protien makes hair grow quickly and shaving a full beard makes the stubble courser and fuller.

let it grow out a bit, shave it, let it grow out a bit shave it, and keep repeating for a few months until you thicken your face hair (assuming you're just starting out on this endevor.) Then just let it grow, trim when needed and viola.
