S My daughter called child services and now the parent of the child is harassing her. What can she do?
The mother of her friend who she called child services about is doing everything possible to discredit my daughter. She is even starting rumors about me and my family. What are the laws about this? we live in nevada.

Go to Judge Judy, this is called slander or defamation of character. If your daughter had true reasons for going to child services, then she did the right thing. If your daughter did this out of malice then shame on her, because going through child services can be tough for all parties involved. If this woman is making life difficult for your daughter sue her. She doesn't have the right to do what she is doing. Go to small claims court, and make sure you have your cards in order because, the burden of proof will be on you. Keep emails, voice messages, and bring witnesses if necessary. Good Luck

Maybe it's time someone called the woman up about her childish behaviour. She's getting away with all this nonsense and no one is stopping her. Talk to her and let her know that you know what she is up to and maybe it's time for her to mind her own business. If you let Child Services know what has transpired in this regard would they offer some advice?
Good luck on this one.

Well you shouldn't be calling child services on someone else unless your reasons were REALLY good. If they weren't you probably deserve the backlash. If they WERE then tell her to stop and then if she doesn't then get a restraining order.

She could get a PFA, protection from abuse order from the court. She could sue the woman for slander, if she has proof the woman is trying to harm her reputation.

Usually when you call child services it is anonymous. She should call the police if she is being harassed.
