how do you know if your a good guitarist?

well ive been playing for 1 year 10 months i know a few scales lots of songs some solos but im doubting my skills so how can i tell if im a good guitar player?

It depends on what you want to accomplish with it.
Some arent happy until they sound like Eddie Van Halen, Vinny Vincent, or Eric Clapton, some are content to just play their chords without duding the ring of the strings when they play.

Some just want to be able to play basic chords when they sing.

But to find out if you are a good guitar player in the sense that you can play in public and enjoy your guitar playing, get opinions from friends and family and if they give the thumbs up, find a typical area where artists perform on the streets and start playing. Or go to an amateur night if that seems to extreme. Either way, practice but don't practice without completing a performance.
Most important, if you are hating it, take a breather and go back to it when its not work but fun/enjoyment.

Oh one more thing! I am starting to see a lot of people taping their performances online, give it start! As wih all some will be down right jerks and just slam anything you do, others will offer critical critiques and advice for you to consider, maybe a website that you can post videos of your experiments, song playing may be a good start as well!

now that we've got that out of the way: you're a good guitarist when you can play to your own satisfaction. you're the judge. dont wait for someone else to tell you you're good.

ask your closest friend to be honest with you and tell you what they think. friends always tell the truth, even if it hurts.
