A rumor is like wrestling in the mud with a pig. You get dirty and the pig is happy. Ignore it...
Only uneducated idiots listen to rumors...

You really only have two options. You can confront the person that started the rumor if you can track them down. Sometimes that is hard since everyone will deny starting it and say they heard it from someone else. Your second option is to just ignore it, which is equally hard. Hold your head up and continue with your life. If you bow down and cower at home it will be worse. As long as you know, and your family and closest friends know it isn't true, you'll be fine. One thing about rumors...someone always has a new one in the making. Soon they will forget about you and start talking about someone else.

when the rumors start to reach me, I usually try to think up of answers suppress it, but when people start to ask about the rumors, I pretend that i don't know anything about it and tell that the rumor is a lie. I usually do this with a disbelieving and incredulous expression. that way, people tend to disbelieve about it and sooner or later they will drop and forget it.

You should choose between 2 things :
1)ignore them , and when other people ask u about it , ignore them and stay away from the people who spread those rumors .
2)threaten them and say you will spread rumors about them

U go straight to that source and confront them on it.And tell them it's none of their business or they don't know what they are talking about.People that know you are the only ones you have to worry about believing the rumor and if they know you well enough they will know it's not true

Just laugh about them, and say something like this, "Well, if you believe that, I have some beachfront property in Iraq to sell you, too.", then just walk off!
When they see that it does not bother you, they will stop. You real friends will not believe it anyway.

first you will feel nervous when you have rumors, especially if you doesnt have any information about that person,,. maybe he want something about you, or maybe that person will kill you,. a little patience when your in that situation!!
